Wirral Country Park, Thurstaston
This is
a beauty of a country park - offering something from everyone - from Rocky
climbs to wide open areas, Parks and benches and country lane Walks.
Thurstaston
opens out onto the Dee Estuary and the view from the top is amazing.
Certainly a walk for the more energetic dog - the Boulder Clay cliffs are
60ft high and offer a view across the entire area
Good points:
Lots of other dog walkers frequent the area - you are always likely to bump into somebody for a chat. The open spaces offer some lovely picnic areas with benches, Poo bins, and shops for refreshments. The wide range of different types of walks offer a new experience for the dogs around each corner - from the rocky outlets through to the woodlands. the park is kept in exceptional condition!
Bad Points:
Car Parking can sometimes be an issue - always best to aim to get there early! There are a number of smaller car parks - just remember where you parked!!! Watch out for the hill runners as well - they can startle you and your dog.
Overall – Excellent due to its variety of scenery and terrain. This really does offer something for everyone - but only for the energetic dogs (and their owners) as some of the climbs can be steep
How to Find it:In Between West Kirkby and Heswall, the park is well signposted if you leave the M53 at Junction 2.
