Westminster park, Chester

Perfect for those of you in the city centre - this is a lovely park to walk through but please be advised that local residents are not too fond of dogs being off the lead.  The park can get incredibly busy with Children so please keep all dogs under control!

Good points:

A great location for those in the centre of Chester, especially those with children who may wish to enjoy the park.  Their is a large car park which leads you onto a large field.  The park has good footpaths, meaning it is suitable for those with Buggies or those who do not want to get too muddy after the rain! The park also has toilet facilities, lots of bins and lots of Benches so there are plenty of facilities for resting.  There is also a shop selling food and drink - making a good place to go on a hot summers day

Bad Points:

As we mentioned, the local residents insist upon dogs being kept under control (on a lead) and the walk around the park is not too long.  In the summer it can get incredibly busy with Children - so keep the dog on a short leash! The play area, bowling green, and tennis courts can all add additional interest for the person walking the dog but can also be additional distractions for the dog - so do take care.

Overall – A good walk in the town centre - not too long and with good paving it is easy to walk on.  But keeping the dogs on leads is not impressive to us - its hard to tire a dog out when they cannot run and play - so we'd give it a thumbs down!

How to Find it:

From Chester, follow the A483 (Wrexham road) The park is well sign posted.
