A setback for Georgie

Georgie was having a good week following her day out at Cheshire’s dog home and was due to go to Liverpool Small Animal Hospital on Thursday for a final check up and a date for her first hip replacement operation.

Unfortunately on Tuesday Georgie started limping when she was out on her usual walk.  We didn’t see her fall awkwardly or get bumped into by any other dogs so we don’t know how she hurt herself.  We hoped that she would be better by the morning but were worried that she may have damaged the knee that had been operated on.

The next day Georgie was still limping so we gave her some pain killers and a day of rest ready for her appointment the following day.  At the hospital she was declared to be lame again but they are sure that her knee is working properly and that maybe she has pulled a muscle.

We have to let her rest and just have gentle exercise and then go back in to 2 weeks time.  Her Hip replacement date will have to wait until she has recovered from this little set back.  She is on antibiotics to fight any potential infection and the good news is that by the Weekend she was up for her swimming session and looking back to normal.

Things can only get better!!!!!!
